I'd say it's always good to own a pair of sturdy portable speakers. I bought these for my annual bonfires by the beach about 3 or 4 years ago. They are not insanely loud or the highest quality, but I think they work perfectly for a night at the beach with some friends. The best thing about them is that they are completely water resistant and sandproof. The days of putting our speakers in bags or boxes by the beach are finally over!
